Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is a deeply personal and spiritual decision. While
different Christian traditions may use different words or rituals, the core steps are rooted in faith, repentance, and commitment. Here’s a simple, sincere path you can follow:
1. Acknowledge your need for salvation
Recognize that all people have sinned and fall short of
God’s perfection And remember no sin is too big for God to forgive.
Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God.”
Romans 6:23 – “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of
God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
2. Believe in Jesus Christ
Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who died for your sins
and rose again.
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His
only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Romans 10:9 – “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is
Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved.”
3. Repent of your sins
Turn away from your old way of life and ask God to forgive
you. Note that this is not an instantaneous event. Do not overload yourself
with grief or sorrow or worry if this process goes slowly. Stay the task. Give
God a chance to work in your life through the Holy Spirit. The best approach is
to get a modern translation of the Bible and read through it a few verses a day
and let it speak to you. For help See His
Moments for daily prayer help
Acts 3:19 – “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your
sins may be wiped out.”
4. Accept Jesus through prayer
Speak to God honestly. Here's a prayer you can say: “Lord
Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the
dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I
trust You and follow You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”
